Network Operations Center (NOC) Specialist
Great Plains Communications is looking for a detail-oriented person to monitor and assist in network troubleshooting from our state-of-the-art Network Operations Center (NOC) in Blair, Nebraska.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Utilizing monitoring and management systems to ensure the timely identification and permanent resolution of outages and network issues
- Providing phone support for customers
- Supporting and operating the customer-facing notification, problem, and change management systems/processes
- Participating in network and system troubleshooting and maintenance as needed
Successful candidate must have knowledge of telecommunications networks and systems, including fiber transport systems, servers, routers, switches, Ethernet and MEF standards. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, written and verbal communication skills, and customer relation skills are a must. Must be able to rotate work shifts (7am-4pm and 8am-5pm) as well as participate in after-hours on call.
Two or more years of technical and customer support experience is desired. Professional certifications including CCNA, MEF, VCA, or MTA are a plus.
